Missoula Children’s Theatre Auditions

Auditions for Missoula Children’s Theatre production of ‘Blackbeard‘ will be held Monday, April 15th, 3:30 – 5:30 pm and will be held at Farmin-Stidwell Elementary (1626 Spruce Street) in the gymnasium, followed by the first rehearsal.

This opportunity is brought to you by the Pend Oreille Arts Council, Community Assistance League, Equinox Foundation, Innovia Foundation, Idaho Community Founday, Union Pacific Foundation, Bonner County Daily Bee, Edward Jones, P1FCU, Litehouse Inc., and STCU.

There are roles available for students in grades K-12. Students must be at least 5 years old to participate. Approximately 50-60 local students will be cast to appear in the show with the MCT Tour Actor/Directors. There is no guarantee that everyone who auditions will be cast in the play. Students wishing to audition should arrive by the scheduled starting time and plan to stay for the entire two-hour session. The first rehearsal begins approximately 30 minutes after the auditions.

It is a group audition – no advance preparation is necessary, but a smile never hurts. They should just be ready to come and have a good time!  During the audition, 2-4 Assistant Directors, ages 10 and older, are selected to help teach and direct the show early in the week and take on technical responsibilities at performance time.

Rehearsals will be conducted every day, April 15 – April 18, from 3:30 to 8:00 PM at Farmin-Stidwell School, and April 19, at the Panida Theater – full dress rehearsal 3:30-8:00pm.  Although not all cast members will be needed at every session, those auditioning must have a clear schedule for the entire week and if selected, be able to attend all rehearsals required for their role. A detailed rehearsal schedule will be distributed at the conclusion of the auditions. Cast members scheduled for the full 4 hours of rehearsal will be asked to bring a sack lunch, supper or snack.

The public performances of MCT’s ‘Blackbeard will be held at the Panida Theater (300 North First in Sandpoint) on Saturday, April 20, at 1:00 PM and 3:30 PM. Ticket prices are kept low to ensure the best possible attendance by parents, family, friends and the community-at-large. Adult tickets are $15 or 2 for $20, youth 18 and under are $5, per performance.

Tickets for the performances are available now at the POAC office, 334 N First Avenue, Suite 212 (on the Cedar Street Bridge), or www.artinsandpoint.org. Tickets will be available two weeks prior to the performances at POAC’s ticket outlets: Eve’s Leaves (326 North First Ave), Eichardt’s Pub (212 Cedar Street), and Panida.org.

Missoula Children’s Theatre is a non-profit organization based in Missoula, Montana. This coming year nearly 50,000 cast members across the globe will take to the stage to the delight and applause of their families, friends, community, neighbors and teachers!
