POAC Artist, Connie Scherr

Connie grew up in between Minnesota and California and was exposed to art and painting since early childhood. Her mother was a oil painter and her father dabbled in sculpting. Her great uncle was an impressionist oil painter and had a great influence on Connie’s love of oils. Connie majored in Art in college and has been painting all of her life. “I have painted in watercolors for 30 years and have switched to oils in the past 8 years. I am passionate for plein air painting, it gets me outside and connects me with the reason we moved here in the first place, for the lush forests and nature that reminded me of my childhood in Minnesota.” Connie also travels to paint in NM, So. Cal., and Mexico. She has lived in Sandpoint for over 36 years with her husband Les and two children. Locally you can view her work at The Artists Gallery at Schweitzer, the Studio Tour here in Sandpoint area every August, 41 South, the Chimney Rock at Schweitzer and through the many POAC shows.
