POAC presents ArtWalk to expand the community’s involvement in the arts. Local artisans, galleries, and business owners throughout downtown Sandpoint collaborate each summer for an event designed to showcase all that our unique town has to offer. ArtWalk gives artist members and other local artists a chance to exhibit their work and encourages all ages to explore this free city-wide event. Maps of the walking tour will be available throughout downtown.

About the Event:

POAC’s Annual ArtWalk in downtown Sandpoint, Idaho promotes local artisans, galleries, and business owners throughout downtown. We collaborate each summer for an event designed to showcase all that our unique town has to offer.

Shoppers explore the artwork, have a bite to eat, and enjoy shopping while strolling through downtown Sandpoint.

Important Dates:

Venue Application Deadline: May 9th

Opening Reception: Friday, June 13th, 5:00-8 pm

Artist Pick-up: Monday, September 1

Venue Requirements:

· If you plan to serve alcohol during the reception, it is your responsibility to acquire the proper permits

· There is a $125 fee to be included on the ArtWalk brochure

· Registration form must be filled out accurately and completely for brochure accuracy

· The venue must be open during opening receptions

Artist Selection:

Each participating venue is encouraged to work with POAC to choose an artist to feature during ArtWalk. POAC has over 100 artist members and can likely find the perfect fit for your business! POAC will handle all art sales resulting from a POAC artist placement.

If you are the featured artist or would like to choose your own artist, no problem!

ArtWalk 2025 Artist Application Instructions

Thank you for your interest in participating in ArtWalk 2025!

Please follow the instructions below to submit your application:

Preferred Method: Email Submission

  1. Send an email to poacasst1@gmail.com with the subject line: "ArtWalk 2025 Application - [Your Name]."

  2. Include the following information in the email:

    • Basic Contact Information (Name, Phone, Address)

    • Attach labeled photos of your artwork with titles and dimensions.

    • Artist Statement

Alternate Method: Hard Copy Application

  1. Download the application here, or pick up a hard copy at our office, 313 N Third Ave., Suite B in Sandpoint.

  2. Complete the application with your basic contact information, attach labeled photos of your artwork with titles and dimensions, and include your artist statement.

  3. Submit the hard copy application to our office in person or mail it to PO Box 1694, Sandpoint, ID 83864.

Important Notes:

  • Incomplete applications will not be considered, so please ensure all required information is provided.

  • Applications must be received by May 2, 2025, to be considered for ArtWalk 2025.

Selection Process:

  • The Visual Arts Committee will determine the placement of artists and the acceptance of applications.

  • Original work in painting, drawing, printmaking, ceramics, glass, fiber, photography, and sculpture is accepted.

  • It is free to apply for ArtWalk.

Fees and Membership:

  • A $25 fee applies to accepted artists who are not POAC members.

  • The participation fees from businesses and galleries contribute to the creation of ArtWalk brochures, walking maps, and extensive publicity.

  • Funds raised through ArtWalk directly support POAC’s programs and events in the visual and performing arts for our community.

Additional Information:

  • Participating venues will host exhibits from June through September.

  • Artist receptions for the exhibit opening will be provided by all participating venues.
